The mark:
Assouline was founded in Paris in 1994 by Prosper and Martin Assouline. It began with the desire to create a new, contemporary book style that would use the couple's experienced eye for visually rich stories and captivating narratives.
The process
Since its beginnings, Assouline has used the same traditional technique of hand-bound covers, with imagery that transports the reader to another place and time.
The brand is known worldwide for bringing luxury to the publishing industry and produces unique books on fashion, art, architecture, photography, design and travel, telling a story of L'Art de Vivre with each publication
Each book in the collection pays homage to the time-honored craft of bookbinding, and the images are individually hand-trimmed - a process that requires cutting, gluing and placing each photo on the page.
This craftsmanship results in the highest quality books in the world, which are true works of art.
Environment
Assouline and the non-profit organization One Tree Planted are working together to create a more sustainable world. Assouline is committed to planting a tree for every book purchased.
They want to create a sustainable cycle by sourcing paper from the trees they plant. The company will then be able to produce many books from their own responsibly planted trees.
